英検1級の英作文では、理由を考える前に「何について意見を求められているのか」を正確に固定する必要があります。主語、対象範囲、比較対象、時期、条件を読み違えると、英文そのものが正しくても設問から外れます。この記事では、TOPICの範囲を10～20秒で確定するための独自30問を掲載します。

TOPICは4つに分解する

Who / What：誰・何についてか
Action：何をすべきか
Scope：どの範囲・条件か
Comparison：何と比べているか

たとえば「Should governments require all companies to disclose environmental risks?」では、対象は政府、行為はrequire、範囲はall companies、内容はenvironmental risksのdisclosureです。「一部の大企業について公開すべきか」と読み替えると、別の問題になります。
