,」「While some argue that … ,」「This concern is understandable, but …」
- Opposing view:
- Concession:
- Rebuttal:
Although some people argue that A, B.=「Aと主張する人もいるが、Bである」。
It is true that A. However, B.=「Aなのは事実だ。
This concern is understandable, but it does not necessarily mean that B.=「この懸念は理解できるが、必ずしもBを意味するわけではない」。
Even if A, B would still be more beneficial.=「たとえAでも、Bのほうがなお有益だ」。

Topic: Should governments invest more heavily in renewable energy?
Governments should invest more heavily in renewable energy because doing so can strengthen energy security and reduce long-term environmental risks. Some people argue that such investment is too expensive, especially when public budgets are already under pressure. This concern is understandable, but the comparison should not be limited to the initial cost. Renewable infrastructure can reduce dependence on imported fuels, while investment can also encourage technological innovation and create new industries. Therefore, although large-scale spending requires careful planning, governments should increase investment in renewable energy as a long-term economic and environmental strategy.
Topic: Should universities require students to complete internships?
Universities should encourage students to complete internships because practical experience can help them connect academic knowledge with real-world problems. Critics may argue that mandatory internships would place an unfair burden on students who already have demanding schedules or financial responsibilities. This concern is valid, but universities could provide flexible formats and financial support instead of abandoning the policy altogether. Work experience can also help students identify unsuitable career paths before they graduate. For these reasons, universities should promote internships while designing systems that prevent participation from becoming an excessive burden.
Although、While、It is true that、However、Even ifなどの表現を固定パターンとして覚え、必ず具体的な理由につなげると、書きやすくなります。
