|---|---|---|
| 保留を確定にしてしまう | may help→will solveと読む | may / not necessarily / remains uncertainを残す |
| ゲストの立場を逆転 | not against A, but worried about B | 反対しているのはAそのものか、実施条件か |
- ④ 全台本を読み直し、but / however / not necessarily / instead / before expanding等の転換点を見つける。

Interview 1|Public Library Access
Interviewer: Your city recently extended public-library opening hours. Has the project achieved what you hoped?
Guest: It has made the libraries available for longer periods, and that’s a meaningful improvement for some residents. But the opening-hour total was never our real objective. We wanted people to be able to study, borrow materials and receive assistance. Several districts still have poor transport links, so extra hours alone haven’t removed every barrier.
Interviewer: Would you say the project was unsuccessful?
Guest: Not necessarily. I would call the results mixed. We saw more evening visitors at central libraries, but much smaller changes elsewhere. Those differences tell us where further work is needed, rather than proving the whole initiative should be abandoned.
Interviewer: What would you do next?
Guest: We’re considering mobile branches and clearer information about available services. Some people don’t use the library website regularly. And before expanding, we want to check whether visitors can complete the activities they came for. If we count only hours or entrance numbers, we might confuse activity with useful outcomes.
Interviewer: So your message is to invest further?
Guest: To evaluate carefully and invest where access barriers are greatest, not to assume the same solution is suitable everywhere.
Q1
What does the guest identify as the main limitation of the extended hours?
- (A) Libraries were all closed during the evening.
- (B) Longer availability did not remove transport and other access barriers for everyone.
- (C) Most residents refused library membership.
- (D) The city had no study spaces.
Q2
What is the guest’s preferred next step?
- (A) Abandon every library programme.
- (B) Measure only the number of entrances.
- (C) Introduce identical mobile branches everywhere without review.
- (D) Evaluate practical outcomes and target districts with remaining barriers.
Interview 2|Urban Flood Forecasting
Interviewer: Your team claims that flood forecasts are now more accurate. Does that make communities safe?
Guest: Accuracy matters a great deal, but it doesn’t automatically guarantee protection. A warning must reach people early enough, and they need to know what action is appropriate. Some residents lack reliable internet or have difficulty traveling to shelters. A forecast may be excellent while the overall response remains incomplete.
Interviewer: Wouldn’t additional sensors solve the problem?
Guest: They could improve observations, so I wouldn’t dismiss them. But a sensor cannot explain an evacuation route or provide transport. Those tasks require coordination across public agencies and communities.
Interviewer: How would you measure success?
Guest: I’d look beyond how many messages were sent. We should ask whether different residents received and understood the information and whether they had realistic options for responding. Even then, a drill doesn’t reproduce every emergency, so follow-up reviews matter.
Interviewer: Is it realistic to expect perfect protection?
Guest: No. The objective is to reduce avoidable risks with evidence and preparedness, not to claim that every natural hazard can be prevented.
Q3
Why does the guest say better forecasting is insufficient?
- (A) Warnings and practical response options are also necessary.
- (B) Forecasts are never helpful.
- (C) All residents already use the same technology.
- (D) No shelters exist in any city.
Q4
How does the guest want to judge performance?
- (A) Only through sensor counts.
- (B) Only through forecast accuracy.
- (C) By communication, residents’ understanding and practical response possibilities.
- (D) By whether an emergency was completely prevented.
Interview 3|Digital Payment Platforms
Interviewer: A new payment service says its transactions are much faster. Is that an important achievement?
Guest: It can be, especially for small merchants. But speed isn’t the only thing that determines whether the service is useful. Users need to understand the fees, keep their accounts secure and obtain help if a payment is disputed. An application can be convenient while creating problems that aren’t obvious from the processing time.
Interviewer: Some governments want every business to move to a single provider. Wouldn’t that simplify things?
Guest: It might simplify training and technical support, but it could also leave many businesses dependent on one company’s systems. A major outage or unexpected fee change could then affect them together. I’d prefer to examine practical alternatives.
Interviewer: What do merchants tell you?
Guest: Their experiences vary. Some are enthusiastic, while others work where network connections aren’t reliable. A trader may register for an account and still use cash frequently.
Interviewer: What should policymakers measure?
Guest: Actual use, clear charges, service reliability and whether errors can be corrected. Registration totals are a starting point, not proof of financial inclusion.
Q5
What is the guest’s main concern about evaluating payment services?
- (A) Digital payments never help merchants.
- (B) Transaction speed alone does not establish safety or usefulness.
- (C) Every account must be closed.
- (D) Cash is always the cheapest option.
Q6
What risk does the guest associate with a single provider?
- (A) Every transaction becomes slower.
- (B) Businesses stop selling goods.
- (C) All fees disappear.
- (D) Many merchants become vulnerable to one company’s outage or price changes.
Interview 4|Forest Restoration
Interviewer: Your nonprofit planted thousands of young trees last year. Should we consider that a major conservation success?
Guest: Planting is an achievement, but the number of seedlings doesn’t tell us whether a functioning forest ecosystem is developing. Survival, species suitability and management matter over time. A large planting event may draw attention, yet follow-up work is essential.
Interviewer: Are you saying volunteers wasted their time?
Guest: Not at all. Their work can contribute to restoration. I’m saying that input figures, such as hours volunteered or trees distributed, should not be confused with ecological outcomes. It’s important to value people’s effort without claiming more than the evidence supports.
Interviewer: What complications have you faced?
Guest: Local rainfall and land use vary. Some sites need different approaches, and certain planting plans may affect farmers who rely on that land. Community consultation can reveal constraints that aren’t visible on a simple map.
Interviewer: What will your organization report in five years?
Guest: We hope to report survival rates and relevant habitat conditions alongside project costs. If the findings challenge our original assumptions, we’ll explain them and adjust the programme rather than rely on last year’s publicity.
Q7
Why does the guest reject planting totals as proof of ecological success?
- (A) Counting trees is prohibited.
- (B) Volunteer programmes have no value.
- (C) Tree survival and habitat conditions over time are also relevant.
- (D) All tree species are identical.
Q8
How will the nonprofit respond if later observations conflict with early expectations?
- (A) Explain the evidence and revise its approach.
- (B) Ignore new findings.
- (C) Publish only planting totals.
- (D) End all community discussion.
Interview 5|Artificial Intelligence in Education
Interviewer: Schools are considering allowing generative AI for certain assignments. Should teachers be worried?
Guest: They should think carefully about what they intend to assess. A polished essay doesn’t necessarily demonstrate that the student understands its evidence. But the use of an AI tool for preliminary exploration doesn’t always mean that no independent learning occurred. We need clear expectations rather than assumptions based solely on the appearance of submitted work.
Interviewer: Would an automatic detection system solve the problem?
Guest: I wouldn’t rely on it as the only source of evidence. The output of a detector isn’t the same thing as understanding the student’s work process. Instructors might ask learners to explain their sources or revise an argument in response to questions.
Interviewer: Would you require oral interviews for everyone?
Guest: Oral explanation can be useful, but a single assessment format may disadvantage some learners. Equivalent accessible methods should be considered. Schools also need to protect sensitive information when using external digital services.
Interviewer: What would success look like?
Guest: Students would know which assistance is permitted and could demonstrate the intended skills fairly. The goal is genuine learning and accountability, not the greatest number of suspected AI violations.
Q9
What is the guest’s main view on AI-assisted assignments?
- (A) Every AI-supported activity proves misconduct.
- (B) Polished work always establishes independent understanding.
- (C) Detection software should decide all grades.
- (D) Assessment should establish learning and apply transparent, fair rules.
Q10
Why does the guest oppose one mandatory oral method for everyone?
- (A) Oral questions never reveal understanding.
- (B) A single format can create accessibility barriers for some learners.
- (C) All students refuse to speak.
- (D) Teachers have no assessment goals.
Interview 6|Marine Fisheries and Local Livelihoods
Interviewer: Your coastal cooperative reports that annual catches were stable. Does that mean the fish population is healthy?
Guest: Not necessarily. Some boats may be spending more time or traveling farther to catch the same amount. Catch totals are useful, but fishing effort and other evidence about the resource should also be examined.
Interviewer: Several operators are concerned about new harvest restrictions.
Guest: That’s understandable. Small boats and large commercial operations may have different costs and alternatives. We shouldn’t assume that identical rules have equal practical effects. At the same time, avoiding necessary management simply because it is unpopular may create longer-term problems.
Interviewer: Could aquaculture replace wild fishing?
Guest: It can contribute to food supply, but different production systems have their own environmental and economic requirements. It’s not a universal substitute. We should assess the combination of options rather than ask one activity to solve every challenge.
Interviewer: What is the next step for the cooperative?
Guest: We’ll work with researchers and fishing communities to improve monitoring and discuss practical implementation. We need evidence that protects resource sustainability while recognizing livelihoods.
Q11
What does the guest say about stable annual catches?
- (A) They automatically prove healthy fish populations.
- (B) They show all vessels have equal costs.
- (C) They may hide increased fishing effort and do not alone prove sustainability.
- (D) They make resource monitoring unnecessary.
Q12
How does the guest view aquaculture?
- (A) As a useful possible contribution with separate limitations, not a total substitute.
- (B) As a guaranteed solution to every fisheries problem.
- (C) As always environmentally harmless.
- (D) As an activity that cannot produce food.
