英検3級の英語で「何を選んだか」と「何をすることに決めたか」は似ていますが、文型が違います。**choose A over B／choose A from …** は選ぶ対象に注目し、**decide to do／decide not to do** は今後の行動を決定する形です。独自24問の英文書き換えで語順を練習します。

4つの文型の意味
choose A over B｜二つから選ぶ
二つの候補を比較してAを選んだことをchoose A over Bで表します。
choose … from …｜候補の中から選ぶ
複数候補の中から一つを選ぶとき、choose one … from the optionsのように表します。
decide to＋動詞｜行動することを決める
decide to read / decided to goなど、決めた行動をto＋動詞原形で表します。
decide not to＋動詞｜しないことを決める
decide to notよりも、基本形としてdecide not toを使い、行動しない選択を表します。

元の英文で『選んだ候補』と『選ばなかった候補』、または『する・しないと決めた行動』を確認してから、指定表現を使って英文を書き直してください。

よくある誤り
I decided go.はdecided to goに直します。I decided not go.はdecided not to goです。chooseは目的語として選ぶ対象を置くことが多く、decideはdecide to＋動詞という形が使えます。
復習の方法
まず指定語句を見て24問を完成させます。翌日は模範解答を隠して自力で書き直し、3日後に学校行事・部活動・読書で自分が選んだものと決めた行動を各2文作ってください。

chooseとdecideは意味が同じですか？
重なる部分はありますが、chooseは選択肢から選ぶ動作、decideは意思決定することに焦点が当たりやすいです。
decide not toは必ずこの語順ですか？
不定詞の否定の基本形はnot toであり、decided not to goの形で覚えると便利です。
