stop doing は「その動作をやめる」、stop to do は「別の行動をするためにいったん止まる」という意味です。また、try doing は方法として試す、try to do は達成しようと努力することを表します。形が少し違うだけで、行為を中止したのか新たに始めたのかが変わります。

- stop doing：doing で示す行動そのものを中止する。
- stop to do：主な行動を中断し、to do の行動を行う。
- try doing：ある方法を試しに実行する。
- try to do：達成しようと努力・試みる。結果が達成済みとは限らない。

try to と try doing は絶対に交換できませんか。
文脈によって両方使える場合もありますが、『達成しようとする』と『方法として試す』の焦点が異なります。
