英文要約でnot recorded（記録していない）は、値がzero（ゼロ）だったという意味ではありません。一方、no incidents were reported（事故報告がなかった）は、記録上の報告がゼロであるという限定が付きます。no incidents occurred（事故が起こらなかった）とまで書けるかは観測方法の確かさによります。
対象：英検準2級プラス〜1級の英文要約を学ぶ中高生。数値・原因・報告状況を読み違えず、本文の情報を正確にまとめる共通技能のオリジナル教材です。
教材について：金額・人数・施設・時点・統計はすべて慶英会が設定した学習用の架空例です。英検の公式過去問や実在の調査を転載していません。
誤要約を防ぐ4原則
- not recorded / missing data は未観測・欠測。ゼロ件と推定しない。
- zero reported は記録された報告の件数がゼロ。観測の範囲や報告制度を確認する。
- no incidents occurred は実際の出来事の不存在を述べる強い主張。根拠を確認。
- データの空欄・数値ゼロ・記録が行われたかをそれぞれ区別する。

誤要約：
The library did not record visitors on Tuesday, so zero visitors came.
改善後：
The library did not collect Tuesday’s visitor count, so the number is unknown.
和訳：図書館は火曜の来館を集計しておらず、人数は不明だ。 理由：記録がないことから来館者ゼロと判断できない。
