英検2級長文で筆者の態度を問われたら、強い評価語を探すだけでなく、文章全体で筆者がその対象をどう扱っているかを確認します。positive、critical、neutralの違いを、however、unfortunately、important、shouldなどの表現と本文の論理から判断します。
結論｜toneは「評価語＋結論＋扱い方」の3点で判断
一つの形容詞だけでpositiveと決めず、筆者が利点だけを述べているのか、問題点を指摘しているのか、両面を公平に説明しているのかを確認します。

- 最後の段落の提案がtoneの重要な手掛かりになる。
- タイトルだけでtoneを決めない。
- 具体例の一つだけでtoneを決めない。
- 選択肢の強さが本文を超えていないか確認。
- 筆者の事実説明と筆者自身の評価を分ける。
- 引用された人物の意見を筆者の意見と混同しない。
- “Some people think…”は引用された立場の可能性。
- “The author says…”と“the article reports…”を区別。
- 最終確認：本文全体の印象と選択肢が一致するか。
- 最終確認：強すぎる「always/never/entirely」を選んでいないか。
