英検1級リスニングPart1では会話の内容を聞いて選択肢から答えます。放送は1回なので、すべてを記憶するより「誰が」「何をしたいか」「途中で何が変わったか」の3点を先に予測すると処理しやすくなります。本記事では、選択肢先読みと会話の変化を捉える練習を独自24問で行います。

公式形式を確認する

英検公式では、1級リスニングPart1に当たる「会話の内容一致選択」は10問で、放送回数は1回です。リスニング全体では会話、説明文、Real-Life形式、インタビューの4形式が設定されています。

「最初の案」を正解だと思わない

会話問題では、最初にAを予定していても、後半でBへ変更することがあります。「I was going to …」「Actually …」「But then …」「In that case …」「I guess I’ll …」などは変更の合図になりやすい表現です。選択肢に最初の案と最終決定の両方がある場合、最後の決定を優先してください。

独自会話①

Man: Were you still planning to attend the conference on Friday?
Woman: I was, but my department moved an important meeting to Friday afternoon. I thought about joining the conference online, but the organizers just announced that the sessions I need will not be streamed. So I’ll attend the conference on Saturday instead.

Question: What will the woman do?
Answer: She will attend the conference on Saturday. Friday参加、オンライン参加という途中案ではなく、最終決定を答えます。

独自会話②

Woman: Did you reserve the larger room?
Man: I planned to, but the larger room requires an extra fee. Since only six people confirmed, I changed the reservation to the smaller room. If more people join tomorrow, we can upgrade it.

Question: Why did the man change the reservation?
Answer: Because only six people confirmed and the larger room costs more.最終的な条件を2つ拾うのがポイントです。
